DC resistance between the two terminal points of cable connection shall not be greater than λ times of dc resistance of the equivalent length branch cable, and the value of λ shall be determined by a consensus of suppliers and users.
IPC termperature rise shall not be higher than the branch cable temperature rise.
Heat cycle performance of the IPC shall meet the requirements ofIEC 6 1284-1997, Clause 13.4
AC voltage withstand strength of the IPC shall not be less than rated voltage of cable connected. Requirements are shown as Table 1.
The IPC shall have good electrical tracking resistance performance. During the test, the IPC suface shall not burn, the electrodes shall not form a continuous arc, the leakage current shall not be greater than 0.5 A, and the IPC shall not break down.
There shall be no visible cracks on the shell ofIPC after a xenon lamp weather test.
4.2 Specific requirements
4.2.1 Immersion performance
An IPC immersed in water shall withstand the voltage per4.1.2.
4.2.2 Low-temperature performance
The IPC shell shall have no cracks after a low-temperature impact test.
5. Tests
5.1 Visual inspection
There shall be no visible defects on the IPC surface afecting its use.
5.2 Dimensional inspection
Each component dimension shall be measured by gauges with accuracy of not less than 0.02 mm. Allowable deviation shall be checked according to design drawings.
5.3 Inspection of shear-torsion moment
5.3.1 Laboratory environment
In the laboratory, the temperature shall be kept between 15 °C and 30。C, and the relative humidity shall be between 25% and 75%。
5.3.2 IPC connection
For the IPC covering a certain conductor cross sectional area range, the maximum size should be selected fom both the main cable and the branch cable for tests.
5.3.3 Test equipment
The test equipment is a digital torque wrench with aceuncy of not less than 4% and a division value of 10 more than0.I Nom.
5.3.4 Test procedure
The IPC shall be istalled according to nstallatio instructions supplied by the manufacturer.
It is reoendd that on the pplication of torque, the initial fastening pocss can be done by hand and the following fastening process shall be done with the tool at the speed of appoximately 8 s a full rotatiomn, or the speed specifled by the manufacturer’s insallation intruetors.
The shear- torsion moment of shear bols/uts at break shalll comply with 4.1.1.
5.4 Coating thickness measurement
The frrous metal of the IPC components shall be tested for coating tickess. The test equipment, procedure and requirements shall be in accordance with Clause 5 to Clause 7 ofISO 2178:2016.
5.5 Flame-retardant performance test
5.5.1 Test equipment
The test equipment includes a bolder, a timing device, a flame nozzle, a fuel supply device, fuel, and a box,described as follows:
Holder: the holder shall be able to grip the IPC sbelll tightly during test, and the distance between the IPC and the flame nozzle could be adjustable,Timing device: the measuring accurncy of the timing device shall be #1%, The timing device is used to reord the duration of the flame beginning and lasting on the IPC.
-Flame nozzle: a hrizotally placed fuel nozzle with am inner diameter of 10 mm.
Fuel supply device: a device with a pressureregulating valve, a gas-egulating valve, and a gas tank.
This device shall help ensure that the flame nozzle can stably jet out a 50-mn-long blue flame.
-Piee: industrial methane gas.
Bor: a box lange enough to avoid air draft infuence.
5.5.2 Test procedure and requirements
The IPC shall be clamped to the holder. The flame nozzle shall be fixed 50 mm above the IPC bottom edge.
The IPC test area shall be 45 mm from the fame nozzle. Open the gas regulation valve and the fiame shall keep a total length of 50 mm and a blue segment length of at least 15 mm. The gas source shall bhe cut off after 10 s. The continwous burning time shall be recorded and shall not exceed 5 s. The test arangement is shown in Figure 1.IEEE 2780 pdf download.
